Hot off the press, the Sustainable Development Commission's report to Government, Looking Back, Looking Forward, recommends that 'schools be supported to put further emphasis on practical food experience, including cooking skills and food growing, and to help educate future food citizenship skills including understanding of how marketing affects food choices.' It also calls for mandatory health and sustainability standards for all publicly procured food. Hope someone at Whitehall is listening!
