Jamie Oliver speaks out.

Today's the day that the school lunch grant loses it's ring fencing so that schools and local authorities can use it to cover other areas of their budgets. There are fears that, as LAs stop investing in school meal services, meal prices will rise. The Department for Education said 'We make no apologies for giving headteachers complete freedom over their budgets ...' Jamie Oliver said 'It's the long-term health, happiness and productivity of the future of our country that is at risk. I believe that any compromise on a child's right to a healthy school lunch ... is child abuse on an unimaginable scale.' Read more here.
