Meeting with Frances Harris from Kingston University

Had an interesting meeting with Frances Harris from Kingston University yesterday.  We were discussing her report on the importance of farm visits in food and health education.  Hopefully we can now pool our information to promote farm visits more successfully to teachers.  It is clear that those teaching staff that venture out onto a farm have a very rewarding experience and see the visit as a wonderful resource to support their teaching.  A recent CPD day on farm visits organised by FFLP had to be cancelled due to poor numbers, so should we be introducing the concept of farm visits as an educational resource to post grads as part of teacher-training?  Watch this space.
