Cooking Ideas - Our first session

What a great start to Cooking Ideas!  Grey Court School year 7s made wonderful hosts for our first session with Tom Aikens.  Tom is normally found cooking lunch at his Michelin star restaurant in Chelsea, but today he, and his enthusiastic helpers, prepared a simple lunch of fresh pasta with a tomato sauce, followed by chocolate fondant.  The group was transfixed as Tom produced fresh pasta and all enjoyed chopping, smelling and tasting the ingredients that made a delicious tomato sauce.  The students are excited about the prospect of being able to grow their own ingredients next year on the Grey Court Allotment and were keen to go home and try this simple meal out on their parents.

And the verdict on the lunch? According to one budding chef: "10 out of 10 for the pasta, 2 million out of 10 for the chocolate fondant".
