School Food Matters believes school food should never become a party political issue. For that reason, we are in the process of becoming an independently-funded charity. As a candidate for the Conservative Party, Zac Goldsmith will not become a Trustee, or have any ongoing role in the running of SFM. He will however remain a passionate supporter.
I also recall going into this at length with Councillor Eady back in March.
As obstacles to a SFM/LBRuT working party, SFM and its supporting parent body has been offered politics, time, money and back to politics again. We can deal with the time and money aspects once the working party is up and running, so may I suggest that you let me know precisely what the Council needs from SFM in the way of assurance of 'political neutrality' in order to move this forward, as without SFM the working party appears to be a non-starter.
